Cardiff Bus Bowls Club was founded in 1978 and played originally at Llandaff Fields then Penhill and since 2012 at Cardiff Bowling Club Sophia Gardens.
Club open day is in April every year when new members are made welcome. All levels of bowler of any age and male or female are catered for from the absolute beginner onwards. The Club is termed as mixed where Ladies and men compete against each other in competition and combine for matches.
Membership is from Cardiff Bus staff with Associate and social members. Many of the Club play for other teams within the South Glamorgan area and have joined Cardiff Bus B.C. for mixed bowling.
Club night is Thursday throughout the season where coaching and competitions are the main activity. Matches are played at home and away on Sundays throughout South Wales and the West Country.
All members are eligible and play in the National Passenger Transport Sports Association competitions and have played in recent years in the Triples, at Cardiff Bowling Club, Singles at Colinton Bowling Club Edinburgh and the Rinks at York Railway Institute Bowling Club.
A “Club Annual Tour” is organised in August every year, there have been visits to Aberdeen, The Isle of Wight and Jersey in recent years, with plans already made to re visit York in 2017.
Everyone is made welcome
